London Bridge Walk – Saturday 26th September 2026
We are delighted to announce the Rowland Brothers Foundation London Bridge Walk taking place on Saturday 26th September 2026 — and this year, we’re going bigger and better.
Our route will take you around the iconic central London Bridges, starting and ending at the Embankment.
Criss-crossing over some of the capital’s most iconic bridges, this flat and very accessible route lets you pass some of the most historic sites, from the Houses of Parliament to The Tower of London. Along the way, enjoy stops (if you fancy them) at some of London’s finest eating and drinking establishments, all on hand to help you on your journey. It’s a self-led walk, but with some surprises…
After the success of last year’s fundraising hike, we are so excited to welcome even more walkers to take part. This walk is fun, challenging, and incredibly rewarding.
There will be prizes for the fastest walkers, best-dressed walkers and even games and prizes for the kids.
Help us to raise much-needed funds so we can help others.
Why take part?
By joining the challenge, you’ll:
- Raise vital funds to support bereaved families in Croydon
- Be entered into a prize draw if you raise over £150 in sponsorship
- Improve your fitness and stamina
- Spend quality time with friends, family, or colleagues
- Experience the powerful mental health benefits of walking in nature
- Feel a genuine sense of achievement and community
The health benefits of walking
Walking is one of the most effective and accessible forms of exercise:
- Just 30 minutes of brisk walking can reduce the risk of heart disease by up to 35%
- Regular walking helps lower anxiety and depression by 20–30%
- Walking outdoors reduces cortisol (stress hormone) levels and improves sleep
- Long-distance walking builds cardiovascular fitness, leg strength, balance, and resilience
- Group walking boosts motivation, connection, and emotional wellbeing
The route: start & finish
We will be starting and finishing at Victoria Embankment Gardens. This location is easily accessible by public transport and winds through some of London’s most iconic and interesting historic areas. Best of all, the path features plenty of classic London pubs along the way for us to enjoy.
- Before we start: Meet us there to grab a coffee nearby and catch up.
- After we finish: We will gather at the gardens for a well-deserved snack to celebrate completing the route.
Sign-ups & deadlines
If you were worried about fitness levels, please don’t be. This particular walk is all about inclusivity, connectivity and fun. We want to get absolutely everyone involved this year, and we will build back up to the more challenging wilderness walks next year.
- The Goal: If you can commit to raising a minimum of £150, you are IN.
- The Deadline: The deadline to join the walk is Saturday 19th September 2026 (exactly one week before the event).
We are currently building a specific sign-up page on our website, and we will let you know as soon as it goes live. In the meantime, if you want to secure your spot early or have any questions, please call 0208 660 5547 and talk to Justine regarding the sign-ups.
Our mission
Most importantly, please remember why we do this. We are raising vital funds to support people going through the absolute worst moments of their lives. Grief can be an incredibly lonely experience. Through our work, we stand by our clients across their entire journey and offer a dedicated suite of support services to the Croydon community.
We aren’t just raising money; we are creating a supportive community. Come and be a part of it.
